David is Manging Director of the Legal & General Suburban Build to Rent business, (SBTR) responsible for helping to create and deliver the SBTR strategy, originate and structure partnerships and for building and managing the team. He has extensive residential real estate investment, development and management experience and originally joined Legal & General Capital as Senior Investment Manager within the Principal Investing/Housing team, managing Legal & General Capital’s nationwide investments into the urban Build to Rent sector within Legal & General Investment Management business. Prior to the role, he was a Director at Rowan Asset Management and a Board Director of Taylor Wimpey Cavendish Holdings, a joint venture regional housebuilding division. He holds an MPhil from the University of Cambridge, MSc from Cass Business School, MA from the University of Edinburgh and is a Member of the RICS.

Michela Hancock is a Managing Director and is responsible for the expansion of the company’s third-party management platform and strategic partnerships for wider development and investment deals across Europe. Previously, Michela was Managing Director of Development and Construction for the UK, where she oversaw all project financing, amenity, unit planning, design, planning, construction, and lease-up efforts on high-density Build to Rent and student developments. She has a MSc in Real Estate Development from Johns Hopkins University and worked in development for Bozzuto Development Company and Grainger PLC. Michela is a founding board member of the UK Apartment Association, an advisory board member of Commercial Real Estate Finance Council and a member of the British Property Federation Build to Rent Committee. She is a member of the ULI European Residential Council, serves on the Real Estate Balance Policy and Campaigns Committee and is an active member of Commercial Real Estate Women’s mentorship programme.

Charlie is Chief Investment Officer at Moorfield , which is a leading UK real estate private equity fund manager with a 25 year track record of investing across most sectors of UK Real Estate. 

Moorfield is especially well known as an early investor in operational real estate, including:

  • Build to Rent through the More. platform (c.1,400 units since 2012)
  • Student Accommodation through the Domain platform (c.7,000 beds since 1998)
  • Senior Living through the Audley platform (c.2,000 units completed/underway since 2008)

Moorfield also has an extensive track record in successfully identifying evolving investment themes in the office and industrial/logistics sectors.

Hugo Black is a Partner at Europa Capital and has 15 years of experience in real estate. Since 2012, Hugo has invested circa €1.2 billion into the living sector totaling more than 10,000 beds and established Europa’s in house residential management team. Hugo is particularly focused on the UK and Nordics but has experience across Europe and across sectors.

Before joining Europa Capital in 2010, Hugo worked at DTZ Corporate Finance. Hugo is a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI). Hugo also sits on the Policy Committee of the Country Land and Business Association. Hugo received a BSc (hons) in Zoology from the University of Edinburgh and was a Cass Business School Scholar where he obtained a MSc in Real Estate Finance.
